We sometimes imagine you, window open (less in winter, it can be a bit cold), hair in the wind perhaps, driving towards a known destination (or not), in search of this feeling of freedom that only the road and life in a camper van can provide. Going to discover people, obviously too! Because the camper van is about sharing, but it is also discovering activities that we would not necessarily do usually: cultural, fun, sporty or funny! Each season has its share of discoveries.
The trees are budding, the birds are singing a little louder and nature is slowly waking up from the few months of winter. Spring is here!
It’s time to organize a nice walk in the vineyards or a little visit to an educational farm, for animal lovers (a little tip from a friend: it’s perfect for keeping the kids busy!), meet the farm animals and discover how milking is done… and for those with a sweet tooth, maybe taste some good hot milk straight from an udder. It’ll be a change from pasteurized milk, that’s for sure! For others, a horse or carriage ride can often be ideal for discovering the surroundings and enjoying nature. The choice is yours!
The sun is finally beating down and warming our hearts. Summer and its share of vacationers are well and truly out. So, why not think about doing something a little different from what others might do? Visit permaculture gardens and greenhouses, take the opportunity to taste some sun-drenched fruits or vegetables (no, we are not obsessed with food), go picking, go for a ride on a donkey or pony (think of your children!), or even, why not, rent a horse-drawn caravan for a few hours and imagine yourself a century ago. Take a pottery course or... play pétanque (so that you don't get left behind on the next wild family games). The long summer days that stretch out open up a world of possibilities, make the most of it!
It's autumn's turn to settle comfortably on its bed of leaves displaying a range of oranges and reds. So, to become aware of all this beauty, nothing beats flying over it and for that, a microlight baptism is perfect! For the less daring, fishing is also good. And then, what pride when you manage to catch one of these big river or pond fish! For a little comfort, a nice warm cooking workshop, the discovery of local crafts or a workshop on medicinal plants to anticipate the little aches and pains of yesterday. Finally, and for us, perhaps the most impressive (but you have to be a bit of an early riser), listening to the deer bellow in the woods. Impressive and moving.
And finally, winter! It's time to get warm, visit a museum, taste good local wines or olive oils (it's been a while since we talked about food, right?). To relax, a little massage and to prepare for the cold, go and discover the work of alpaca wool and maybe even bring back a soft scarf…
…before returning to your mobile home, take the road again towards new adventures, hair in the wind (or not), but nourished (always) by sharing and unforgettable exchanges.
France Passion is all that, we promise you!
