Two children in Ardèche...

Very often, retirement roads... are grandparents' roads, and if we had acquired such a large camper van... it's because we can sleep 4 in it!
The test was a little late, it's true, taken up as we were to give a second youth to our house found quite shabby after 15 years..
But all that being behind us, it could not wait any longer: the time had come to test a camper van ride with the grandchildren.

For a first time, wanting to make a good impression, we did not want there to be too many kilometers... and as usual we called on France Passion, who found us an Ardèche stopover in the middle of nature on the hills overlooking the Rhone Valley.

Coming from Pilat, it's okay... not too many kilometers... before the small roads of the Ardèche take us to our destination, to a goat farm near the small village of Rompon.

On arrival, the huge field to sit down offers a 180° horizon... and young and old discover the use of this magical mobile home that we take with us: we weren't super worried: they loved it!

Children in the countryside... it suits them so well.
You might think that we don't see our grandchildren much in this article, but there you go... we have a parental ban on putting photos on the internet ;-)
We obey the instructions so that we have the right to take them back afterwards!

They are used to walks in nature.. but the farm animals will nevertheless always be a guaranteed success, I think, with children aged 8 and 6, especially when the said animals are, like them, not very old!

A herd of goats in the evening, returning from their pasture because it is milking time.. it amused them.... but what they did not know is that these images touched their grandfather deeply, reviving the daily images of his childhood in Berry, a long time ago...

Goat farm, therefore... but not only!
The range of the farm is not limited to goats...
A short walk takes you to the pig enclosure below the farm
Big success for the pig stars including the young class!

To complete the picture, a pasture a little further down is even dedicated to a donkey and her baby...
And the morning wake-up call is not to the crowing of the rooster... but to that of the peacock!
A spectacular animal that turns out to be familiar with visitors and agrees to pose for a photo

To complete the picture of the day... if the farmers are entitled to a private life and the shop is unfortunately closed on weekends which did not allow us to savor the farm's picodons, we must point out an additional asset: a GR passes through the farm!

Which allows a walk offering sumptuous landscapes facing the Vercors on the other side of the Rhone Valley..

Halte France Passion once again lives up to our hopes for peace and greenery, in the company of children's laughter and their carefree attitude to forget for a moment the dark hours that the upcoming elections are preparing for us...
