You are here on the France Passion site, passionate… about travel of course, in camper vans of course, but not only!

Because at France Passion, what we love above all is being creators of encounters… for a day (more often a night, by the way…), or for life! Friendly and romantic stories, we could tell you loads… Ah, but wait!

That’s exactly what we are going to do! We are going to distill our stories throughout the months to come. So, don’t hesitate to subscribe.

But how did this whole adventure begin?

A little over 30 years ago. It was 1992 and Pierre Ginoux, then editor of the magazine "Cépages Magazine" and a campervan enthusiast in his spare time, had the idea of ??linking the two and creating a network for welcoming campervans to locals, particularly winegrowers. The idea was simple and virtuous. For hosts, it was about offering hospitality on their estate, opening the doors of their lives, making their know-how known and creating connections. For travellers, it was about having the chance to stay in magnificent and quiet places, off the beaten track of campsites, discovering daily life, professions, local products... and exchanging ideas.

So what?

Well, the first "Sud Passion" network was naturally born with the membership of 160 Rhone-Mediterranean wineries. But the craze was such that Pierre did not wait long (one year) to rename "Sud Passion" to "France Passion". And since then, the invitation formula has continued to attract followers, even opening the network to farms, producers and artisans from all over France.

What about today?

There are 2,200 extraordinary stages, spread over 91 departments, which bring together enthusiasts from all walks of life. And when we say "from all walks of life", it is because our dear motorhome enthusiasts do not only come from France. They also come from Belgium, Switzerland, England, Sweden, Italy, Finland...

And if Pierre Ginoux unfortunately left us in 2020, it is his friends, Didier Garcin and Marc Guillermain, who have taken up the torch, perpetuating the craze, ideas and history of France Passion year after year.

But to accomplish all this, they are not alone!

They can count on Michèle, Jeanine, Florence, Françoise, Nathalie and Alexandra who work to ensure the smooth running of the company, take care of relations with hosts and motorhome owners and develop an ever more comprehensive guide each year.

In fact, we are in the process of prospecting for future hosts who will enrich our "Guide des Étapes Invitation 2025" which will be released next March... and that keeps us busy...
